Whenever a creature looks upon the sea, they feel something. Some see it as a wrathful, dangerous element, ready to strike out at a moment’s notice. Others see it as a serene and peaceful plane, unbroken and refecting truth. Still others see it as freedom, the ability to go where one will and do what feels right. All these emotions and feelings exist as a part of Maquora, the godmind of dichotomy. It is unknown whether Maquora was created from these responses to the see or if she created them in the frst place, but it is indisputable that she embodies the best, and the worst, of all the sea and its expanse. She is caring in one moment and furious in the next, striking out at her enemies with the rage of the ocean.
Maquora’s most well known actions are the adoption of the maenad race. Feeling a great sadness at the way Aestor treated his creation, she aided them when they were attacking their creator. When it was fnally over, she took them beneath her waves and granted them peace, where before they knew only hatred. Now she watches and guides her adopted race. Ifnothing else, it can be said that she is true to her mercurial nature, placid in one moment and channeling tempestuous
anger the next. She continues these unpredictable actions even in her interactions, being rather active at times and extremely distant at others.
Doctrine: To follow Maquora is to feel calm and fury. It is walking a line between full abandon and being totally jaded. Followers are expected to remain calm in most situations but never hesitate when their rage is needed. Often trained in battle as well as psionic arts, followers are expected to keep their skills honed and always be ready for anything.
